Al-Ahram Canadian University is located in the 6th of October City, Giza Governorate, Egypt. It is a pioneering university institution founded in accordance with Republican Decision No. 393 of 2004 and began studying in 2005. It uses the best and most modern educational methods that are in line with international standards for the quality of education, drawing on the expertise of distinguished Canadian universities such as the University of Alberta, McMaster University, Montreal University, and Carleton University, which are the universities nominated by the Association of Universities and Colleges in Canada, that are an academic group of Canadian universities with a distinguished position worldwide and operate in accordance with international standards. The university awards an equivalent bachelor’s degree from the Supreme Council of Universities in all disciplines in its colleges.

The university accepts Egyptian and foreign students who hold a high school diploma or its equivalent in accordance with the conditions determined by the university’s council, and by taking into account the controls decided by the Council of Public and Private Universities. The university will start implementing graduate studies programs (diploma/master's/PHD) in its various colleges as soon as the ministerial decisions that allow private universities are issued.

The university is preparing to obtain a certificate of education quality and accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education.

The university currently consists of six faculties:

1. Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine.
2. Faculty of Engineering.
3. Faculty of Pharmacy.
4. Faculty of Business Administration.
5. Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology.
6. Faculty of Media.

In the near future, the university plans to establish three new faculties:

1. Fine and Applied Arts.
2. Physiotherapy.
3. Postgraduate Studies.
